Fallas of Valencia
Las Fallas of Valencia celebration or the Falles festival dates back to the mid-twelfth century. The popular version says that the carpenters of the city began it by burning chips, lumber and traditional “parot” (planks of wood they used to hang their candles on to work in winter that were no longer needed in spring) the burning coincides with the celebration of Saint Joseph.
Currently, the Falles in Valencia is held from 15 to 19 March, although the traditional mascletà starts from March 1st. They are the most important festivals of Valencia and are declared Fiestas of International Tourist Interest.
